Exclusive to local government employees since its creation in 1993, the LGHIP has become one of the most sought-after health insurance plans statewide due to its low-cost premiums and copays for health, dental, vision and hearing, as well as its cost-saving programs for prescription drugs. Counties that do not participate in the LGHIP offer their own set of competitive health insurance coverage options.
